LCPA Projects
The Lincoln County Port Authority is committed to supporting growth, improving infrastructure, enhancing safety, and expanding opportunities in our community. While many of our projects are still in the planning stages, this page will serve as the hub for all current and upcoming projects.
Forest Access and Wildlife Habitat Protection Project
The Lincoln County Port Authority is collaborating with the U.S. Forest Service to install and maintain access berms on public lands. The first phase of the project includes the construction of 59 berms designed to help prevent unauthorized motorized use in sensitive forest areas. This work is critical for achieving wildlife habitat management objectives, particularly in managing grizzly bear habitat within designated Bears Outside of Recovery Zone (BORZ) and Bear Management Unit (BMU) areas. By controlling access, the project supports long-term forest health, wildlife conservation, and safe recreational use.
Lincoln County Port Authority Firewood Bank
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Lincoln County Port Authority Firewood Bank! This exciting new initiative is bringing unmerchantable wood out of the forest that would have otherwise been burned, and now we can put it to good use to help our neighbors in need.
Thanks to generous funding from the National Forest Foundation, LOR, and Alliance for Green Heat, we are able to make this project possible. We sincerely thank them for supporting our community and helping us turn forest management into a resource for those who need it most.
If you or someone you know needs firewood this season, please contact us to find out more — we’re excited to share this resource and make a real difference!
